The Central Hockey League announced today that Riley Nelson of the Colorado Eagles has won the Oakley Three Stars Award for the month of October/2009. Nelson will receive a Oakley Detonator watch.

Nelson was recognized in all four games he played earning first star honors twice with second and third star honors coming once each, respectively.
The new Eagles Captain finished with six goals and four assists in his four games and was a +6 helping Colorado to a 3-0-1 record. The Cranbrook, British Columbia native had multiple point games in each of the Eagles contests.
During the month, Nelson earned 14 points in the Oakley Three Star tabulating tying with Amarillo’s Joe Guenther for the highest point total (the tiebreaker consists of fewest number of games played in the month – Guenther played in eight games).
